If Alabama Football Coaches Were On ‘Entourage’

facebooktwitterreddit

I’m an Entourage fan but also going extremely crazy needing football. This is what happens when binge watchers start to crack after investing so many hours into a show. Led by the young and talented actor, Vincent Chase, him and his three best friends move across the country to Los Angeles. Along with Vince’s agent, Ari Gold, the “entourage” go on 8 seasons worth of adventures while giving viewers a satire look at the film industry. Entourage fans, I hope you enjoy and for the others still reading this, trust me my ideas will get better.

Are the 17 people who are Alabama fans but also watch Entourage still with me? Great, let’s get started.

Nick Saban as Ari Gold

Both men are the heads of their respective teams and are absolutely vocal about any minor detail that can be wrong. Ari is foul-mouthed, aggressive, ruthless, keeps his team in line, and lacks in stature but makes his presence felt in every room. Wait, are we talking about Ari or Saban here? While Saban studies film for countless hours, Ari is up reading hundreds of scripts for his clients. Saban spikes hats and headsets while Ari double fists cell phones and kicks chairs. Wanting to be the best can bring out a little crazy in everyone.

Lane Kiffin as Vincent Chase

One of the hottest names in college football, Kiffin thought he was taking the next step by becoming a head coach in the NFL. Dreams can sometimes lead to nightmares. After a couple more missteps, Kiffin was becoming an untouchable coach until Alabama decided to give him a shot. The other young stud, Vincent, did a few movies until he hit it big time with Aquaman. However, much like Kiffin, he went from the youngest and hottest name to the “don’t touch” list after a couple moves backfired on his career. Throw in a few controversies – I’m sure Kiffin can relate – Vince could barely book a commercial. After receiving one final shot, Vince is back to superstar levels.

Kirby Smart is Eric “E” Murphy

When you think of who is Alabama’s defense, does Saban or Kirby Smart pop into your head first? Even if you thought Smart, plenty of others said Saban.  As Vince’s manager, Eric runs into this problem as well. Vince already has the best agent in town, what exactly can a manager do? Despite continuous success in the show, Eric always seems to feel a constant shadow. No matter how many clients, or job offers, both still remain at their respective positions and having much success.

Mel Tucker as Johnny “Drama” Chase

Drama knows his niche and it’s TV. When Drama tries to bite off more than he can chew, he struggles because of some really bad luck. However when he’s in TV, the series is usually a hit and much success follows. The same could be said for Tucker. As a defensive back coach, Tucker is one of the best. As a defensive coordinator, he had some fine seasons but also a bit of bad luck along with the way. Now Tucker is in Tuscaloosa and back to his roots while Drama is killing it again on TV.

Scott Cochran as Salvatore “Turtle” Assante

After starting out as just the driver for Vince, Turtle wanted to make something of himself instead of pandering to the rest of the group. Eventually, Turtle made a few significant connections and became pretty well known in the city filled with the most celebrities. Sounds kind of like a coach who doesn’t have the biggest title but is now screaming into jumbotrons during the 4th quarter and getting ESPN specials right? In a town with names like Saban and Kiffin, there is still plenty of room for Cochran.
