Vegas Picks Alabama In Early 2015 Football Odds

facebooktwitterreddit

The Vegas early 2015 odds Alabama as the favorite in five major games in 2015.

According to 5Dimes.com and VegasInsider.com Alabama is favored to beat all their big traditional SEC challengers this year.

Vegas certainly has the odds going in our favor.

Alabama favored by 2 at Auburn

The fact that we are favored to win this game by a field goal is disturbing on so many levels, but ok. Right now I’d take this bet because Auburn’s defense is still in disarray. They’ve got some young guys that came in to the defensive backfield, but they are still only a couple of injuries from a walk-on or Will Muschamp himself taking the field.

Speaking of Will Muschamp there’s no way he fixes that defense in one year. Did anyone watch Florida play? Did anyone see how many Florida guys went high in the draft? Did anyone see how many teams scored at least 20 points on Florida? Kentucky, Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, and Georgia all dropped at least 20 on the Gators. Did any of the folks pitching will Muschamp as a defensive mastermind watch Texas in 2010 when they went 5-7? No matter what the folks in orange and blue say I’m not sold on Will Muschamp being the greatest defensive coordinator ever yet.

Jeremy Johnson better be the next coming of Cam Newton that Auburn fans seem sure he is based off his time as a backup, because he’s going to need to score 40 points a game to make up for Auburn’s defense.

This seems like a good bet right now, I think Bama wins by a lot more than 2 even at Auburn.

Alabama favored by 1 at Georgia

THIS IS GEORGIA’S YEAR! Hahaha, no I’m just kidding, it’s never really Georgia’s year. Ah to be a young media member in the preseason and to be in love with the Georgia Bulldogs. I’m sure this 15th rebuilding year is the one where all the predictions are true and Mark Richt puts together a winning team.

Much of Georgia’s hype this year is focused on Nick Chubb their outstanding running back, but let’s not forget a little guy named Derrick Henry.

Let’s also not forget that Georgia has a “silver bullet” player every year whether it’s Chubb, or Arron Murray, or AJ Green, or Todd Gurley. Nobody does less with more than Mark Richt though and I expect Georgia will once again be headed to some bowl game in South Florida; meanwhile all the sports writers will get their “Georgia Will Win It all In 2016” stories ready.

Alabama wins this one by more than 1.

Alabama favored by 9.5 vs. LSU

I am down on LSU, but this is LSU vs. Bama. I can’t imagine this game not being a dog fight to the death with knives. LSU may have a new defensive coordinator and some big trouble at quarterback, but I still think this will be a challenging game because LSU.

LSU and Bama get up to play each other, that’s just the way it is and the way it’s going to be.

I don’t think we win this one by 9.5, but I think Alabama wins this game.

Alabama favored by 3 at Mississippi State

This is not the cupcake Bulldogs of old, this is a much improved Mississippi State, but not that much improved. You’re telling me that Mississippi State is going to give Alabama almost as much of a fight as Auburn and Georgia this year? Without all those great defensive backs that went to the NFL? I doubt it.

Mississippi State takes a step back this year, but not too far back. Alabama wins by 7-10 not 3.

Alabama favored by 12 vs. Ole Miss

I know Ole Miss doesn’t win a lot of games in Bryant Denny Stadium, but I think they get closer than 12 this year. Ole Miss will also take a step back from last year’s flash of greatness, but not this far back.

This is the final “your draft ranking is based on what you do this year” season for Hugh Freeze’s great 2013 class. Guys like Laquon Treadwell and Robert Nkemdiche are playing for big future contracts and will try to shine.

Alabama beats Ole Miss, but probably not by 12.

Alabama vs. Wisconsin

There is no line yet on Alabama vs. Wisconsin, but Vegas does have Wisconsin winning 10 games while they have Alabama listed as winning 9.5 games.

So Wisconsin with the former head coach from Purdue and without their beast player from last year is going to win more games than Alabama? Maybe so in the B1G, but I think they lose one right off the bat against the Tide.

There are no odds yet on two of what I think could be our scariest games Tennessee and Arkansas.

Well I didn’t agree with any of these odds did I? What do you think of Vegas’ predictions and my takes? Let me know in the comments below.
