Alabama football player fighting eye-eating amoeba (AL.com)
"He played a total of two plays, and all on special teams. He’s not on scholarship. There are no guarantees he’ll be on the team in the fall. For Ryan Parris of Madison, Ala., limited participation in Alabama’s 2016 spring game might have been the beginning and the end of his college football career. If that was it, and the parasitic amoeba fighting to take over his left eye forces him to give up on his dream, then at least he had the opportunity to run down the field inside Bryant-Denny Stadium in front of nearly 80,000 fans."
According to the article, Parris isn’t out of the woods yet but he is expected to make a full recovery. If you are a contact lens user, keep them clean like the directions say to do. Thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan for his recovery.
Crimson Tide LB Tim Williams turns A-Day into one-man show (ESPN)
"Tim Williams ruined A-Day.It’s not his fault, mind you. He was just doing what he was told. He couldn’t help that nobody was able to stop him.Regardless, the Crimson Tide’s speedy outside linebacker almost singlehandedly brought Alabama’s spring game — and more importantly, the quarterback competition — to its knees."
I don’t know about ruined. I know I, and probably SEC quarterbacks, loved seeing Tim Williams spend most of the day in the backfield. I think we will all love it a bit more as soon as the 2016 football season gets started.
Alabama Football Recruiting Update – April 18, 2016 (Campus Insiders)
"The focus for Alabama recruiting this week takes a step back from the 2017 class and narrows in on 2018.Four-star offensive tackle Dare Rosenthal decommitted from the Crimson Tide over the weekend, leaving one commit in Alabama’s 2018 class: tight end Malcolm Epps.As the lone commit in the class, Epps spoke with Campus Insiders and said he’s “70 percent” committed to the Crimson Tide following Rosenthal’s decommitment, which has a bit of an impact on his own commitment."
Here’s good review on where things are for recruiting for the Crimson Tide as of now.
Alabama baseball fans will get two nights in a row this week of the Crimson Tide in action at Sewell Thomas Stadium.
