Beth Hall-US PRESSWIRE
Alabama experienced rain during the game against Arkansas last weekend, but it didn’t seem to phase Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide as they rolled to a 52-0 victory. Now they return to Tuscaloosa to take on the Owls of Florida Atlantic in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Are you traveling to Tuscaloosa for the game? Here’s what you need to know weather wise:
Temps Falling For Fall
The last couple of days in Tuscaloosa have been a nice change of pace from the brutal hot summer we experienced. Fall officially begins on Saturday and Temps have responded to the tune of highs in the 70’s and some places dropping to the 40’s during the overnight hours. Those temps will rise to the 80’s, but lows will steady up in the low 50’s. So, if you plan any night activities at any point this weekend and are somewhat cold natured, couldn’t hurt to bring a light jacket or windbreaker to keep yourself warm.
Friday Looks “High” and Dry
Friday should introduce a high of 87 during the day, so if you are coming into Tuscaloosa a day early, expect high temps, but should feel somewhat bearable as the humidity isn’t expected to be high. As far a precipitation, no need to pull out the poncho as most of the day will be blanketed by sun.
Friday night will be great for those making the trek down Friday night. RV lots open at 6pm, and you will be comfortable. The temperatures will drop to the 50’s tomorrow night, which will be perfect for the local Friday night football games in the area. My recommendation? The Northridge High Jaguars will be hosting the Hoover Bucs at 7:00pm. Running Back and Alabama 2014 Commit Bo Scarborough plays for Northridge, if you need a reason.
Saturday Also Looks Great
I think I’ve forecast rain on every Gameday so far for Bama and only have been right once. Good thing is that we will not see any chance of rain all day during this Saturday. Temperatures will continue to reach the 80’s throughout the tailgating hours. Could see a cloud or two, but mostly sunny skies.
For kickoff, expect also clear skies and temps will fall to the mid 70s by the time Alabama starts the game. By the time the 4th Quarter hits, we could see mid to low-60s. As the stadium starts to fan out after the game (or earlier, subject to margin of score), the lows will plummet to the low 50’s. Sunday looks just as good.
Gameday Tip of the Week
You ever find parking a problem on Gameday? The City of Tuscaloosa allows fans to park over at the Intermodal Facility downtown for free. The Deck is only less than a mile away from the stadium, but the Tuscaloosa Transit provides shuttles to the stadium that are a $1 for adults, Free for kids 3 and under and .50 for Seniors. The trolley starts 3 hours before kickoff except for night games, in which they will start 5 hours before kickoff. These trolleys will take you back after the game as well.
