Alabama announces 2013-14 basketball schedule

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama will play home-and-home games against Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss and Missouri, as the Southeastern Conference unveiled the 2014 men’s basketball composite league schedule on Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide will have 18 games on its league slate in addition to the non-conference schedule, which was released in June.

Four of Alabama’s first six SEC games will be played at Coleman Coliseum, beginning with the league-opener on Jan. 7 against Vanderbilt on ESPNU. Other home conference games include Mississippi State (Jan. 15, SEC Network), Florida (Jan. 21, ESPN or ESPN2), LSU (Jan. 25, ESPN2), Tennessee (Feb. 1, ESPN2), Ole Miss (Feb. 11, ESPNU), Missouri (Feb. 22, ESPN2), Auburn (March 1, ESPNU) and Arkansas (March 8, ESPN3).

The Tide’s road schedule begins at Georgia on Jan. 11 on the SEC Network. Alabama will also play away contests at Missouri (Jan. 18, ESPN or ESPN2), at Auburn (Jan. 29, SEC Network), at Arkansas (Feb. 5, SEC Network), at Florida (Feb. 8, ESPN), at South Carolina (Feb. 15, SEC Network), at Texas A&M (Feb. 20, ESPN or ESPN2), at Ole Miss (Feb. 26, ESPN3) and at Kentucky (March 4, ESPN).

The 2014 SEC Basketball Tournament will be held March 12‐16 in Atlanta, Ga. The semifinals and championship game will be broadcast nationally on ABC. The SEC Network will televise the tournament games on Wednesday and Thursday in addition to the Friday night games. ESPNU will televise the two afternoon games on Friday.

Each of the 126 SEC games will be available to be seen from anywhere in the nation. ESPN or ESPN2 will televise 31 contests, ESPNU 18 and CBS Sports six. Additionally, eight games will be offered on ESPN3. The SEC’s games on ESPN platforms are exclusively branded as the “SEC on ESPN.” The SEC Network will televise 40 intra‐conference games while Fox Sports Net will show 13 contests and CSS 10. All 63 games will also air nationally on ESPN3.

The SEC Network will also produce and distribute a studio show each Saturday afternoon during conference play and at the SEC Tournament.
