- Linebacker Reuben Foster tweeted about it earlier and his practice jersey confirmed it. He’s now wearing the No. 9 after sporting a No. 2 so far. Linebacker Tana Patrick had heavy taping on his ankle.
- The outside linebackers were hitting the sled during individual drills. Typically, they’re doing more agility drills during the media viewing period.
- Injured defensive back Nick Perry poked his head to catch a peek of practice. He had surgery on his shoulder last week and will miss the rest of the season. Perry had a sling on the injured arm.
- The CBS 60 Minutes film crew was back shooting the action. They were filming media interviews Monday.
- Longtime practice official Ed Conyers was in a cheerful mood on the sidelines. He’ll be the grand marshal of the homecoming parade Saturday morning.
- Also in attendance was former women’s basketball coach and men’s player Wendell Hudson. He now works an administrative role with the athletics department.

- Nick Saban’s relationship with Paul Finebaum was forged long before he became the Alabama coach. It’s strong enough that Saban has periodically consulted with the longtime Birmingham sports talk radio host “from a public relations standpoint” in order to “brainstorm the best way to manage and handle certain situations,” Saban said Wednesday. Ole Miss commit C.J. Hampton still considering Alabama, Auburn among others
- In an interview with 247Sports, Hampton said his recent visits to Tuscaloosa on back-to-back weekends have made an impact and that he could be seriously considering a flip to the Crimson Tide. “They are very interested in developing a relationship with me and my family, they think highly of me and I am the No. 1 defensive back on their board,” Hampton told247Sports. “It is a really big plus to hear that, because it shows my parents and my coaching staff has brought me up right.”

- Clinton-Dix delivered the textbook open-field hit just as the Ole Miss receiver approached the first-down sticks. Treadwell flipped, then landed with the ball behind the marker. “We wanted to come out and set the tone,” Clinton-Dix said. “… I just tried to be in the right spot at the right time.” And that’s the idea when making the perfect open-field tackle.
