No. 28 Alabama Baseball Falls to Arkansas 2-1 on Saturday

Eric Fisher delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 2-1 victory over the No. 28 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday afternoon from Baum Stadium.
Alabama (15-7, 3-2 SEC) and Arkansas (12-8, 2-3 SEC) complete the three-game SEC series on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1:07 p.m. at Baum Stadium. The Tide will start junior LHP Jon Keller (4-0, 1.63) and the Razorbacks will counter with sophomore RHP Chris Oliver (1-2, 2.25). The game will be televised on Cox Sports Television and ESPN3 with Bernie Guenther and Troy Eklund on the call.
With the Tide leading 1-0 at the seventh inning stretch, the Razorbacks collected three straight two-out singles off Alabama starting pitcher Justin Kamplain in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 1-1. After Thomas Burrows got the Tide out of a bases loaded jam in the seventh, he allowed a one-out RBI single to Fisher in the bottom of the eighth for the games winning run.
After scoring 17 runs on 15 hits last night, the Tide was limited to one run on four hits by Arkansas starter Trey Killian. Killian (1-3) threw a complete game for his first win of the season, collecting seven strikeouts with two walks and two hit batters.
Burrows (3-1) took the loss for Alabama after giving up a run on one hit with two walks in two-thirds of an inning. The run, which came with one out in the bottom of the eighth, was the first allowed by Burrows this season and it came on the first hit he allowed in 9.1 innings pitched.
Ben Moore was 1-for-3 and drove in the only run of the game for the Crimson Tide, that coming in the third inning when he dropped in a two-out, RBI single to right field. The bloop single was just out of the reach of Arkansas second baseman Brian Anderson, allowing Chance Vincent to score from second. Vincent was 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored.
Bama also got singles from Kyle Overstreet and Casey Hughston and a double by Wade Wass to account for the team’s four hits in the game.
Alabama held its one-run lead until the seventh inning when the Razorbacks put together three straight two-out singles to tie the game at 1-1. Kamplain, who allowed three hits through his first 6.2 innings, gave up back-to-back-to-back singles to Krisjon Wilkerson, Bobby Wernes and Michael Bernal to even the score. After Kamplain issued his only walk of the game to Clark Eagan, loading the bases, Burrows got Joe Serrano to fly out to right field to end the threat.
Burrows allowed the go ahead run in the bottom of the eighth on the Fisher RBI single. After Anderson walked to start the inning, he was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Spoon. Burrows intentionally walked Jake Wise then Fisher singled to left field on a 1-2 pitch, driving in Anderson from second for the game-winning run.
