Alabama Recruiting: Tide Makes The Cut For Top Prospects
By Chris Hale
With college football season as well as high school football nearing, many of the top prospects in the country will start to trim down their top schools and concentrate on where they want to take their official visits so they can gather as much information as possible to make their final decision.
Over the past few days, Alabama has made the cut for a few prospects from the 2015 class as well as 2016. It’s just business as usual in the world of Alabama recruiting.
2016 Quarterback Jarrett Guarantano
Four-star pro style quarterback Jarrett Guarantano from Oradel, NJ (Bergen Catholic), named a top 4 of Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama and Clemson. Guarantano visited The Capstone in late July and an offer was extended to him during that time.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound signal caller’s crystal ball feature on 247Sports currently points in the direction of the Buckeyes (70 percent) with the Sooners in second place with 30 percent. Guarantano currently ranks as the number five prospect for the 2016 class, according to 247Sports.

2015 Offensive Tackle Isaiah Prince
Four-star Greenbelt, MD (Eleanor Roosevelt) prospect Isaiah Prince told Ryan Bartow of 247Sports (Subscriber Content) that he was currently leaning on attending college out of state, and that the Tide and the Florida Gators were sticking out to him a bit more. Prince’s Alabama offer came back in May of this year and in July, he made an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa.
The 6-foot-7 in, 280-pound offensive lineman is ranked as the number 11 offensive tackle in the country for 2015, and as the No. 2 player in state according to 247Sports. His crystal ball predictions are currently in favor of Maryland with 50 percent of the picks, but the last two that have been entered are in favor of the Crimson Tide. The Gators and Ohio State are neck and neck for second and third.

2015 Wide Receiver Lawrence Cager
Hailing from Towson, MD (Calvert Hall College), four-star wide receiver Lawrence Cager recently named Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Tennessee as his top schools. As of now, the 6-foot-5, 202-pound receiver’s 247Sports crystal ball predictions are heavily in favor of Ohio State, with 93 percent of the picks. In an interview with ElevenWarriors.com, Cager had this to say about the Tide.
"“Alabama is Alabama, it’s a tradition of winning football season-after-season and consistent national championship game appearances. I love coach (Lane) Kiffin and (wide receiver’s) coach (Billy) Napier and especially coach (Nick) Saban. My good friend Minkah Fitzpatrick is already committed there as well.”"
Cager also breaks down the other schools in that interview. Cager is rated as a four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 18 wide receiver for 2015, according to 247Sports.
