The University of Arkansas is going through a rough patch. They are trying to rebuild a program that rapidly declined after Petrino decided to go joyriding with a girl young enough to be his daughter. The crash only began with Petrino, because Arkansas’ decision to bring in Smith swerved them completely off the road. However, I believe that hiring Coach Bielema will put the Razorbacks back on the map in a few years.
Throughout these troubled times, the Razorback fan base has not deserted their team. I attended two games during this dark time and was surprised to see how dedicated the fan base remained in Fayetteville. When tailgating, whether you are cooking something simple that may not win the hearts of your fellow ‘gaters or something extravagant and full of flavor, you need grilling utensils. These are not flashy, nor are they always needed, but when you do need them they are ready-to-go and almost indispensable. Arkansas fans are not flashy, and they don’t cheer for a school that ESPN needs to cover each week to satisfy ratings, but Arkansas has a fan base and a team that is a constant in the SEC.
