There is no question the Southeastern Conference dominated the BCS Championship era and it looks like the conference will continue its dominance during the reign of the College Football Playoffs. While several schools inside the SEC contributed to that dominance, the one team that has kept the SEC on top of the mountain is Nick Saban’s Alabama. Whether other teams will admit it or not, Saban’s vicious style of recruiting and consistently high-achieving teams has motivated every other school to improve their game. Such motivation has created a power conference with whom no other conference can compete and only few teams can beat.

When it comes to tailgating, the most important piece to the puzzle is going to be a grill. Without a solid grill, the fire will not heat evenly, the coals may burn out too quickly, and you will not get that perfect sear on those expensive pieces of meat. The grill is the center of the tailgating universe. Like the grill, Alabama is the key piece to the SEC machine. Without Alabama, this conference would not have dominated the BCS and would not have pushed itself to a level of play that is comparable to the NFL. It doesn’t hurt that Alabama has some of the most dedicated fans in the country, and every good tailgater knows that once you find the perfect grill, then you never give it up.
