Every good Southern tailgate must include potato salad. However, the issue most Southern ‘gaters run into with potato salad is creating something with naturally high expectations and then realizing the salad lacks enough spice and is very much underwhelming. Sadly, the potato salad dilemma seems to be the same problem Mark Richt and his team has been facing over the last few seasons. It’s true that Georgia does have its moments throughout most seasons. Barring some atrocious event, the Bulldogs will normally have a 9- or 10-win season. However, like poorly-constructed and under-seasoned potato salad, it simply does not get better with time. It seems like each season Richt’s Bulldogs almost get to the pinnacle and then become bland.
