At every tailgate, there is always at least one consistent factor: a dish someone brings that nobody will eat. Don’t get me wrong – someone put a lot of hard work into that dish, but sadly it was not good enough to tempt any taste-testers. This is similar to the coaching searches after Fulmer left Tennessee. The Volunteers had a great program at one point. One would think a lot of coaches with fantastic talent would be chomping at the bit to come in and reshape a program. However, the fan base and terrible condition of the team after each coach leaves makes many people turn their noses’ up at the opportunity. Butch Jones’ Volunteers show the most promise of any Tennessee team since the early 2000s, but there is much work left to do.
