Trey DePriest also deserves a shout out for the game for his return as well as helping on the communication issues from week one to week two. The Tide defense definitely looked better this week but the leader in the defensive statistics for the day gets my nod this week.

DePreist’s partner at the linebacker position, Reggie Ragland, went about his usual business this season and recorded five tackles with three of those being solo. He also added one and a half tackles for a loss of six yards and a sack of six yards. As a whole, the defense held the Owls to only 145 yards of offense with 57 of those yards coming on the ground. Look for the defense to continue to improve as the season goes on and to see the mistakes decrease.
