Les Miles always has a competitive team, even when they aren’t in the hunt for the SEC Western Division Title, which isn’t often.
The play makers for the Tigers are there, just like always. Will things get going full tilt boogie when they need to be? A good game to gauge exactly what these Tigers are made of will come weekend after next with a match up against Mississippi State in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers are led by some young quarterbacks, some talented receivers, great stable of running backs with one that has all the potential in the world, and of course their defense.
Quarterback Anthony Jennings has been getting most of the snaps this season and currently is 16-34 for 427 yards and five touchdowns. Hauling in four of those touchdown passes was the sensational Travin Dural and he has 291 yards on only 6 catches.
Kenny Hilliard has carried the ball 29 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman phenom Leonard Fournette added one touchdown and 21 carries for 115 yards.
The defense held Sam Houston State to 206 yards and Wisconsin gained 268 yards against them. Also, the Tigers had to make a second half comeback to win that one.
If the Tigers are giving up that many yards in a few weeks, it could be a bad day in Auburn and against any other run heavy teams. But this is week three. Things can change and they can change quickly.
