Alabama Football: Crimson Tide in the NFL (Week 2)

facebooktwitterreddit

Week 2 has come and gone, which can only mean another week of stats, news, and highlights from your favorite Crimson Tide players, now in the NFL!

News and Notes

While the San Diego Chargers successfully took down the reigning Superbowl champion Seattle Seahawks, a notable starter was absent from the Bolts’ defensive lineup. Starting OLB Jarret Johnson was declared inactive for the game. Injury, right? No, but he had a pretty good excuse. Johnson was with his wife, Anna, who gave birth to their new daughter Grace Ann shortly before kickoff.

Despite a valiant effort by Saints and RB Mark Ingram, New Orleans could not complete the comeback against the Cleveland Browns Sunday. It was revealed today that the loss wasn’t the only disappointing outcome of the game, as Ingram sustained a hand injury in the game that will cost him roughly a month.

New England Patriots LB Donta Hightower found himself in a familiar situation in Sunday’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings. While playing several different fronts defensively, the Patriots allowed Hightower to rush the QB with positive results. Behind only Chandler Jones, Hightower recorded 2 sacks and 2 hurries, for a total of 4 pressures.
