Happy 1st of October! Get your morning started with the latest Crimson Tide news.

Alabama faces biggest test yet in Ole Miss

"Alabama’s secondary won’t be able to sleepwalk by the Rebs. Treadwell is one of the most productive receivers in the country and Evan Engram is a constant mismatch at tight end. And that’s not to mention Cody Core and Vince Sanders, who are difficult to account for in their own right. If you’re Saban, you’re worried because your top cornerback is generously listed at 5-foot-10, your second-best cornerback,Eddie Jackson, has health concerns, and your third-best cornerback, Tony Brown, is a true freshman."

Only facet of the game that concerns me. If Bo Wallace pulls a Stepehn Garcia a la 2010, Alabama could be in trouble. However, the Tide’s offense is no joke and the pass rush should help out the secondary. It would be best for Alabama to put them away early.

Tide’s trek through SEC West gauntlet

"“It’s mindset, it’s preparation, it’s getting ready to play. It’s the other team having the right respect for the importance of playing with consistency,” Saban said. “There’s a consistency in performance that has to come from a lot of maturity from the players on your team in terms of what the importance of preparation is and how that enables you to play your best and play your game when the time comes on Saturday.”"

Not one individual game is a loss. It’s hard to pinpoint. Alabama’s issue will be what’s quoted above. In the SEC this year, you can’t slack off. You have to come in ready to play every Saturday. With such a young team this could be an issue as a potential trap game against Arkansas or even Mississippi State approaches.

College football championship odds

"The Tide opened as 4-point favorites at The Wynn, but have been bet up to -5.5. If the spread stays in single digits, it will be the first time the Tide are less than a 10-point favorite since laying 8 points against Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station last year."

I have the Tide winning by two touchdowns. Every year it’s “look out for Ole Miss”. Every year, they flop.

Ole Miss players says ‘Alabama not as good as past’

"That’s what probably prompted defensive back Cody Prewitt to throw a rock at the hornet’s nest, when he told Fox Sports: “We understand that we haven’t played a team that’s going to be as good as Bama. But we don’t really think Bama is as good as they have been. And we’re better than we have been. We’re looking forward to getting to the game plan and really nailing down all the tweaks and stuff that we’re going to have to put into Bama.”"

Thanks for the locker room material. Bo Wallace talking last year really helped out in that shut out loss.

Volleyball makes school history

"A 14-2 start to the season and a perfect 2-0 record in SEC play for Alabama has grabbed the attention of the nation’s coaches, as the Crimson Tide are receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll for the first time in school history."

Remember, we’re not just a football school.
