Last night Alabama had its annual team banquet and as they do every year the coaching staff gave out the individual team awards including permanent team captains and MVP. The full list of awards is below.
-Unsung Hero Award (to the player who has made significant contributions to the success of the team and received the least recognition for it): Jarrick Williams (S), Denzel Devall (LB), Leon Brown (OG, Kenyan Drake (RB)
-Outstanding Senior Scholar (To the senior with the highest GPA): Nick Perry (S), Arie Kouandjio (OG)
-Commitment to Academic Excellence Award (To the player who has demonstrated the greatest commitment and achievement in his academic endeavors during the previous year): Denzel Devall (LB), Adam Griffith (PK), Jonathan Allen (DE), JK Scott (P), OJ Howard (TE), and Geno Smith (CB)
-Iron Man Award (To the players who have shown the most dedication to the individual and team goals of the teams year round strength and conditioning program): Ryan Anderson (DE), Derrick Henry (RB), Brandon Greene (TE), and DJ Pettway (DE)
-Most Inspiring Player (To the player who affects the whole team by his attitude as well as his performance – voted on by the players): Blake Sims (QB)
-Pat Trammel Award (To a senior player whose character and contributions to the Alabama team most personify the All-American youth of today and has reflected qualities of integrity, character, importance of academics, and inspirational leadership during their time at Alabama): Brandon Ivory (NT), Brian Vogler (TE)
-Outstanding Defensive Performer (To the player with the most tackles/points*): Landon Collins (S), Trey DePriest (LB)
-Up-Front Award (To the outstanding lineman from each unit): Arie Kouandjio (OG), Cam Robinson (OT), A’Shawn Robinson (NT), Jarran Reed (DE)
-Defensive Achievement Award (To the player who has played a critical role in the effectiveness of the defensive unit): Cyrus Jones (CB), Reggie Ragland (LB), Xzavier Dickson (DE), and Eddie Jackson (CB)

-Jefferson County Distinguised Alumnus Award (A former player who has exemplified the principles, values, character, and attitude that makes a person successful either during a particular life experience or over a period of time): Wayne Davis

*The Alabama coaching staff gives out “points” each week after reviewing film to defensive players for such things as tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, turnovers, and other “impact” plays.
