Quarterback controversy

The quarterback position won’t be settled after A-Day on April 18. While it would seem that it’s Jacob Coker’s job to lose, Alec Morris will no doubt get plenty of reps. But don’t count out freshman Blake Barnett. While traditional wisdom says Saban lets his quarterbacks get seasoned, Saban has shown his willingness to evolve. And the freshman quarterback is no longer an anomaly. Jameis Winston and Johnny Manziel won Heismans during their freshmen years. Granted, they did both redshirt. But if Saban thinks Barnett is ready, he’ll play. And no doubt Lane Kiffin will use the best tool at his disposal to helm the offense.
