Twitter: A House Divided on Everett Golson

facebooktwitterreddit

As soon as the news broke that Golson would be transferring from Notre Dame Twitter ignited. Of course, every armchair quarterback and analyst spoke their mind. What’s interesting is there is a big division, especially between Alabama fans. Some seem to want him, while other do not think he is worth our time. Let’s dive a bit deeper into some of these tweets.

Matt, a student at MSU and self proclaimed #CFBGuru, will not be surprised if Golson ends up at Alabama. Personally, I will be surprised if Golson ends up in Tuscaloosa. At least as a quarterback. I don’t think Saban’s ego can take another hit. If Braxton Miller does not end up working out, I doubt he would even think about pursuing Golson. Of course, I don’t know anything. I’m just a simple minded blogger – not a college football guru.

It’s human nature to want balance in life. Right now the Alabama quarterback situation is anything but balanced. Who will start this year? It is anyone’s guess. Sure, Coker has seniority, but if he could not beat out Blake Sims can we expect greatness from him? In my opinion, no. I have been told Coker is still slow on the release and is interception happy. Not something we need if we are trying to compete at the highest level.

Football is a sport. In sports you have to learn from your mistakes and move on. I doubt the nightmare he was part of a couple years back would be brought up often in Tuscaloosa. As long as he comes in and performs (hypothetically), if he does not then I could see this shoved in the faces of the coaching staff all year long.

Like I said earlier, I’m just a simple-minded blogger, but I do not believe Coker is the answer. As also stated earlier reports coming to my inbox have told me Coker is still not performing to expectations. Let’s be honest, Jimbo may have pulled a Saban and offloaded dead weight onto another program. I believe if Miller does not end up at Alabama Kiffin will push for Golson. Someone who has game time experience.

Yep.

I’m pretty sure this tweet speaks for itself. A lot of Alabama fans were choking on their lunch when the rumors of the rumor that Golson would transfer to ‘Bama began coming out. A lot of people do not seem to have faith in the interception prone quarterback.

Ah, good ol’ Buckeye fans. First off, begging and recruiting are two completely different things. I don’t know where you’re getting your information, but we have yet to beg either. Also, it doesn’t matter what you’re seeing on social media (I’m sure that is your only source of news – try reading something longer than 140 characters) it’s what the coaches decide to do. Unlike your coach who has a tendency to run away from issues when they become too extreme, Saban is more than likely analyzing his options and consulting his staff. Also, we are not hicks. Some of us may live in the country, but we’re also intelligent. Do we have a small vocal part of the fan base that represents us in an ill manner at times? Absolutely. However, the comes with the territory of having one of the biggest and most avid fan bases in the country. We may not all be educated, although I’m sure every Buckeye is a world class scholar, but it’s more than obvious you are a moron.
