We don’t know for sure if Sims future lies at quarterback, running back, or some hybrid back position, but you have to think there is a future for him.

I always liked Blake Sims because he was a team player. Sims was bounced around the Alabama backfield a bit spending 2010 to 2013 as a running back/ backup quarterback before getting the starting QB nod in 2014. That ability to be moved around and play where the team needs you isn’t something you find in everyone.

I remember a quarterback that everyone liked to say was the epitome of a team player named Tim Tebow. If Tim Tebow had been willing to play in places other that QB he might not be the weird unwanted black sheep of the NFL he is today. Tim Tebow could sure learn a few things about being a team player from Blake Sims.

I won’t deny that I want to see Blake Sims succeed in the NFL. I won’t shy away from the fact that I am rooting for one of my favorite Alabama players ever to be an NFL star. I do think that there are some legitimate places Blake Sims could be used in the NFL. After all, this isn’t a Tim Tebow situation here.
