This is the year for Ole Miss. I mean last year was “the year” too, but this is really the last hurrah for the unbelievable 2013 class of Hugh Freeze.
Ole Miss has been a great team under Hugh Freeze. They aren’t the world beaters that some Ole Miss faithful might want, but they are a consistently good team. They beat Alabama last year and for a few weeks were the darlings of the college football world. Can the Rebels reclaim that magic in 2015?
Laquon Treadwell will be catching passes from a new, not yet named QB; there will be no more Doctor Bo in Oxford. I will miss Doctor Bo, but I’m not sure Ole Miss isn’t better off without his hot and cold hand.
The real question is whether Robert Nkemdiche can finally live up to the hype. Nkemdiche is constantly getting double teamed and is always singled out by opposing teams, but this year is for the money. Nkemdiche will be playing for his NFL draft position this year, will that motivation finally help him rise up?
Ole Miss is a well rounded and very talented team, barring injury or off the field trouble they look to make trouble for the SEC West.
Ole Miss will get it’s first big test in Bryant Denny on Septemebr 19th against an Alabama team that will have a chip on it’s shoulder about last year.
