College Football Live will be hosted by Danny Kanell, Joey Galloway, and Adnan Virk this year, a crew that isn’t known for loving the SEC or Bama.
I never thought I’d say this, but we are really going to miss Lou Holtz and Mark May.
I doubt there’s a Bama fan alive who isn’t aware of Danny Kanell’s feelings on Alabama and the SEC as a whole. To say that Kanell isn’t a fan would be a vast understatement on the magnitude of saying FSU got lucky last year No one will be surprised next year when Danny Kanell explains how tough an opponent Wake Forest is and how LSU is a gimme game.
Recently Kanell has hidden his older tweets, I guess it’s ok to make bold predictions of SEC failure, as long as you aren’t held accountable for them later. I did manage to save one particularly great example on my twitter account though.
You see in Danny Kanell’s world it’s only impressive if middle of the road ACC teams win. It’s Danny’s world folks, we’re all just living in it.
What about Kanell’s cohosts though? Are they going to be as bad? Yes. Yes they are.
Some fans might not know Joey Galloway though. Galloway a wide receiver out of Ohio State played in the NFL for the New England Patriots, the Seattle Seahawks and about six other NFL teams.
Not every Ohio State fan or alum is insufferable (only most of them), but Galloway is a particularly great example of the worst brand. Let’s go to the tape.
The SEC is apparently terrible at defense.
Oregon and FSU are better than Alabama. Even though FSU got creamed and Oregon got beat by OSU much worse than Bama.
He enjoys calling the SEC “mighty” in a very backhanded way, because journalism.
He was complaining about the SEC from the jump last year.
He’s talking about Texas A&M here.
SEC offenses getting better and rule changes mean SEC D is dead.
This is my favorite, apparently Joey Galloway thought Bama was sure to lose to Mississippi State, and then went to bed.
The thing that really annoys me and I think most SEC fans about guys like Galloway and Kanell isn’t that they hate the SEC. It’s that they are cowardly about their hate of the SEC. Danny Kannel got tired of being called out on the things he said and hid his old tweets. Galloway professes that he has nothing against the SEC.
Just call it what it is guys. I think the whole of the ACC is terrible and every team in the Big 10 is a joke except OSU, Michigan State, and Wisky. I’ll stand by those statements though, feel free to call me out on them later.
It’s the hypocrisy of the whole thing. Guys like Clay Travis are annoying, but they stand with their annoying takes. Guys like Joey Galloway on the other hand are the politicians of college football.
As far as Adnan Virk goes I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about him, other than having a Canadian guy host a college football show seems strange.
College Football Live is going to be as annoying as heck to SEC fans. At first I may miss Doctor Lou, but I’ll just be flipping over to another game instead of watching this mess this year.
Adding Danny Kanell to College Football Live is like adding Jar Jar to Star Wars, it’s just ruined for me now.
