Florida:

Although they were at their old tackling themselves ways again; Florida was able to pull one out against East Carolina.

It came down to the end but Florida was able to outlast the Pirates 31-24. Both Grier and Harris played for the Gators and it looks like the QB battle still may not be settled.

McElwain got in some hot water in his second game in Gainesville by yelling at a player on the sidelines. This isn’t Colorado State Jimmy; people actually pay attention down here!

The Gators did win the style contest in the SEC this weekend as they broke out an all Orange look that reminds you of the Emmitt Smith days.

Florida will travel to Kentucky this weekend to take on a surprising 2-0 Wildcats team.

Georgia:

The Bulldogs continue their march towards perfection and beyond with a measly 17 point win at Vanderbilt. I know I said all road wins in the SEC are nice, but those at Vanderbilt don’t really apply.

Chubb had 189 yards in this one, and ups his Heisman trophy count on the year to two.

It still looks like Georgia isn’t going to be able to throw the ball much, but when you play Vanderbilt you don’t really have to.

The Bulldogs travel back home this weekend to face South Carolina in what is sure to be another classic early season match-up.

Kentucky:

The Wildcats join Georgia atop the East standings after a 26-22 win on the road at South Carolina.

Are they the new Missouri?

No, no they are not. The win snapped a 22 game road-losing streak for Kentucky and they were in control for most of it. Things got a little testy in the end but the Wildcats were able to hold off the Gamecocks.

Let’s not get too excited though, beating this South Carolina team isn’t too much to write home about.

The Wildcats; as mentioned earlier, return home this week to face the Florida Gators. The winner will be sitting at 3-0 and in a decent spot in the SEC East.

Missouri:

Missouri went on the road and notched a victory at Arkansas State. Why are all of these “big name programs” traveiling to such weird places? Who gets the paycheck here? No one?

It took 14 third quarter points but Missouri was able to hold off the Red Wolves 27-20.

I’m already bored talking about this game and this team because let’s be honest, who cares?
