Alabama was dealt their first loss of the season in SEC play on Saturday, but that’s not why we’re here. It’s time to take a look at what else happened in the SEC on Saturday. All 14 teams were in action again and the conference went 9-5 overall in week three. Four of the five SEC week three loses were to conference opponents. Bret Bielema and his Hogs lost to my new hero Kliff Kingsbury and Texas Tech, as the conference’s lone out of conference loss; I’ll get to more on that later.

LSU and Georgia currently sit atop the West and East due to being the only two SEC teams with two conference wins. South Carolina is last in the East, being the only team with two conference losses. Not good, Spurrier.

Alabama is actually (GASP), tied for last in the SEC West with Auburn and Mississippi State. Something tells me that won’t last however.

Florida was able to take care of Kentucky, Georgia demolished South Carolina, LSU manhandled Auburn and Alabama lost to Ole Miss; giving us the four conference losses.

This weekend conference play really ramps up as 10 of the 14 SEC teams are in conference. Of the out of conference games; Georgia hosts Southern, South Carolina hosts UCF, Alabama hosts Louisiana Monroe and LSU travels to Syracuse. They know this isn’t basketball right?

Again, I’ll skip Alabama because we have plenty of coverage on that front. Also, I’ll continue to go SEC West Winners then Losers, then SEC East Winners and Losers.
