Kentucky:

I’ll be honest; I’m a bit surprised to see Kentucky here this week. I honestly thought this was the year they were going to finally beat Florida. I guess some things aren’t meant to be.

Kentucky’s defense looked pretty good on Saturday, but I don’t know how much of that was Florida’s offense not being very good.

Good news Wildcats, only 37 days til basketball season!

South Carolina:

What’s happening at South Carolina makes me sad. I have to admit I really like Steve Spurrier; I think what he’s done for college football is incredible, plus he may be the funniest coach in the country. However, I’m afraid father time has finally caught up with the head ball coach.

South Carolina was pretty bad last year and they look even worse this year. After winning a game they shouldn’t have in the opener against North Carolina, the Gamecocks have dropped two straight to Kentucky, then a blowout to Georgia.

I hope Spurrier’s golf game hasn’t suffered as much as his football team has.

Spurrier may have already hit the panic button as he’s tabbed true freshman Lorenzo Nunez as his starter this Saturday against UCF at home.

The Gamecocks then play at Missouri before coming home to face LSU. The Gamecocks desperately need a win on Saturday if they hope to make a bowl game in 2015.

Look Ahead:

This weekend we have 5 SEC games to look forward to. Florida at Tennessee is the 2:30 CBS game. Also on Saturday we’ve got Missouri at Kentucky, Vanderbilt at Ole Miss, Arkansas and Texas A&M in Dallas, and Mississippi State at Auburn. I don’t know about you, but my eyes will be on Sean White making his first start against a pretty talented Mississippi State defense.
