Bandit’s Funtime Game Experience Recap, Alabama vs. Arkansas

Here’s Bandit’s recap of yesterday’s game time experience for Alabama vs. Arkansas in Tuscaloosa.

It was a cool overcast day for most of the day yesterday in Tuscaloosa. Some folks might have wished for bright sun and warm weather, but I was just happy that I didn’t need to go through my 3 hour sunscreen application ritual. Cloudy days are a ginger’s best friend.

The tailgating atmosphere was amazing as usual, it was homecoming in Tuscaloosa after all. I didn’t make the homecoming parade because it was in the middle of the day. With the parade in the middle of the day you would either have to go to the parade and then go home for a short time and come back or just stay all the way to kickoff. I like when the parade is first thing in the morning and you can make that an event and then come back to tailgate closer to kickoff. I’m sure ESPN is worried about my opinion on parades and will schedule accordingly next year.

October is breast cancer awareness month and pink was everywhere on campus. I particularly liked that the script A on the bass drums of the Million Dollar Band were pink; that was a nice touch.

The lanyards on the passes of recruits at the game were also pink, so they and their families were easy to spot. There were a lot of them as you can see.

Hey look you can see the ESPN guys in the booth with the green screen behind them during one of the 300 TV timeouts that were called. Honetly Draft Kings I would like to see a little football between your commercials if that’s ok?

Alabama did field goal things that were similar to the field goal things we’ve done all year. Luckily this game we only thew away 6 points on missed field goals. I’m too depressed about it to look up what that makes our total of points lost by missed field goals for the year.

I took a picture of the homecoming court… but honestly no one cares. I know the sororities care a bunch, and that’s great, but no one in the stands cared and I’m pretty sure it was all forgotten by the time the second half kicked off. I did find it kind of funny that homecoming court members have platforms like beauty queens now.

The first half Alabama dominated in everything but the score due to some bad plays and bad calls. I’m pretty sure this ref put money on Arky because he was all over Alabama all night and it pained him to call against Arkansas.

At the end of the game when all hope was lost Bret Bielema was still using his timeouts, I think this was his endgame:

Also towards the end of the game the students started clamoring for their favorite classic Alabama song.

Eventually they took matters into their own hands.

We need to bring back Dixieland Delight to get the game experience to amazing again, but it was a fine night. In the end Alabama won and a great time was had by all; It’s always fun when the good guys win isn’t it?
