Tennessee Fans Harass Kicker After Bama Loss

facebooktwitterreddit

Tennessee’s kicker Aaron Medley missed three field goals in the Vols 19-14 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, so Volunteer fans have taken to social media to harass him.

I’ve complained about kickers before, I’ve groaned in the stand at a missed field goal, I’ve even made comments on twitter such as “oh no” or “here we go”. I have not however ever directed those comments at a anyone.

Sending comments to someone’s social media account, comments that go past “oh no” and into harassment, that’s ridiculous. Yet that’s exactly what Vols fans did after their loss to Alabama.

Attacking a kid on social media because of a football game. Get a life Vols.

If a college kicker is the person you dislike most in the world, what does that say about you?

I hope this guys dream was to be a horrible human.

This is frightening.

Look how easy it is for this guy to make those kicks IN A VIDEO GAME.

Well this is horrible and awful in every way.

This might be the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen a football fan do, and that’s saying something.

You hope this guy gets assaulted because he missed three field goals?

While this man’s twitter account is a huge asset.

Actually 3/3 means 3 divided by 3 when you put a = after it and therefore wouldn’t equal 9.

Apparently this gentlemen thinks he’s owed an apology if his team doesn’t win… don’t ever become a Jags fan sir.

We all hate you, because of a football game, you have no other worth to us as a human.

This would have been funny if you hadn’t directed it at the guy.

Also could have been funny if it wasn’t directed at the guy.

I’m sure Chris Joyner could make those kicks huh?

Eric is holding a clinic apparently.

Mr. Neck gets all the ladies I’m sure.

Here’s a great example of how not to act Bama fans. We have had some kicking problems this year, I hope we don’t resort to this. I could have kept going, there are thousands of these comments from Saturday night. Since Saturday some volunteers have added positive and encouraging messages to the mix as well. Still as we saw in the Tennessee Prank, this kind of thing does seem to be in the character of this fanbase.

I don’t @ or include the twitter handle of anyone I’m making a joke about, it just seems mean and doesn’t add to the joke. (Unless they are a politician, then they probably deserve it.)

I’m rooting for Aaron Medley from this point on.  If the guy decided to leave Tennessee and they were left without a kicker that would serve them right as well.
