The good news not only came as a win on the football in the past few days but on the Alabama recruiting trail as well.

After celebrating a win against LSU, the Tide staff can celebrate the commitments of two players. One committed this past Saturday and one pulled the trigger on Monday evening.

In the hours leading up to the Alabama-LSU game, four-star wide receiver Trevon Diggs announced via his Twitter account that he had decided to play football for the Crimson Tide.

He is the younger brother of former Maryland and current Viking player Stephon Diggs. He told Sports Entertainment Network that he thought he should get away and make a name for himself.

Diggs also spoke about what he liked about Alabama. “The team itself,” Diggs said. “Academics, the graduation rate I was looking closely at, the coaching staff and just how tight of a family there are; that really meant a lot in my decision.”

According to BamaOnline, Tosh Lupoi was his main recruiter, but he also has a good relationship with Tide offensive coordinator, Lane Kiffin.  “We have a great relationship,” Diggs said. “He’s seen me as another Amari Cooper, I saw what he did with him. He can get the ball in his hands and put him in the best position – first round – and that’s what I want for myself.”

The 6-foot, 183-pound prospect from Rockville, MD is the No. 108 overall recruit and No. 6 athlete in the 247Sports composite. He chose Alabama over LSU, Maryland, Penn State and Miami

Last but certainly not least was the commitment of four-star running Brian Robinson on Monday. Robinson lives in Tuscaloosa, Al and it is awesome to see these in-state kids be successful and picking Alabama. He also announced his decision via Twitter.

Robinson is the third running back to commit to Alabama for the 2017 cycle, joining to five-star Najee Harris and four-star Cam Akers.

Since the high school season started, he has already set single-season 6A single-game rushing record at 447 yards.

Robinson’s coach told BamaOnline that Robinson really likes the style play of Alabama and believes he could fill the role of Derrick Henry.

“I think it’s a combination of a lot of things,” Adams said. “I know being somewhat close to his hometown was important to him and his mom. Obviously with the history of the running back position at Alabama, that weighed in his decision. Part of it, too, is that pressure that seems to mount as you approach signing day your senior year. I think partly he just wanted to go ahead and get it over with.”

The  6-foot-1, 213-pound prospect, is rated the No. 18 running back and the No. 257 overall player in the country according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He chose Alabama over offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, and  Georgia.
