My esteemed co-editor Bandit already has filled you in on the reasons that haters will say are why the talented back won’t win it. I’m going to play the other side because I am almost positive he will take it home. Now don’t get me wrong. Bandit is a full-fledged Gump that believes the same thing. He was only giving you the reasons you are going to hear from haters. As a matter of fact, I read a lot of those on Twitter tonight. Let’s get started.
Henry Is A Major Part Of The Tide’s Offense
With injuries, suspensions, and youthful players, the Tide’s stable of running backs have been behind the eight ball for most of the season. For the most part, Henry was the only experienced one on the field for much of the season. He didn’t shy away from extra carries. In fact, he accounted for 38-percent of Alabama’s offense.
If you broke down the other contributors, I don’t think one would too close to that. Alabama has always been known as a running team. If teams can not stop the run, keep hammering at them. Chances are if they can’t stop it on fresh legs early in the game, the task becomes that much harder late in the game after you have been run over by a freight train for three quarters.
