Kickoff and Punt Returner

Javier Arenas

Javier Arenas was thought to be too small to be a high-level college football recruit. A two-star prospect out of high school, his only other scholarship offer was from Florida Atlantic.

Arenas made an immediate impact, returning two punts for touchdowns in his freshman season. He led the SEC in punt return yards in 2007, 2008, and 2009. His 7 punts returned for touchdowns is a SEC record and 3rd best in the NCAA.

He earned all-SEC and consensus All-American honors as a senior. He was the 2009 SEC Special Teams Player of the Year.

Though his most memorable plays were mostly in the return game, Javier Arenas also picked off Tim Tebow in the end zone during the 4th quarter of the 2009 SEC Championship Game, sealing the conference championship (and a trip to the BCS title game) for his team.

Arenas was a second-round choice by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Freddie Milons

Freddie Milons was a wide receiver and kick returner from Starkville, MS who played for Alabama from 1998 – 2001. For his career, he averaged 10.0 yards per punt return and 22.9 yards per kickoff return. He returned two punts for touchdowns, one each in the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

His 23.4 yards per kickoff return in the 2001 season were good for 5th in the SEC that year. He was the MVP of the 1999 SEC Championship Game.

He was selected in the fifth round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
