Reggie Ragland and Tim Williams sack Arkansas QB Brandon Allen
In a game where the offense didn’t find the endzone until the last two minutes of the third quarter, the defense rose to the challenge of containing senior quarterback Brandon Allen and running back Alex Collins.
Arkansas’s offense punted on their first 5 drives, unable to manage more than one first down on any possession. But the Hogs managed to score on a short field off of a Jake Coker interception and take a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
The Tide’s defense remained stout, forcing four punts and a turnover on downs on Arkansas’s 5 third quarter posesssions. Late in the third quarter, Alabama’s offense came alive on an 81-yard touchdown pass. The defense continued to battle, allowing only one more touchdown late in the 27-14 win.
