Derrick Henry flips Michigan State DE Shilique Calhoun

Derrick Henry is not human. Mere mortals do not beat Shilique Calhoun like this. Calhoun surprised folks by coming back for his senior season. He’s rated as a second round draft pick. He is an excellent defensive lineman. And Derrick Henry dismissed him in amazing fashion and then kept running all the way to the end zone, because that is what Derrick Henry does.

By the recaps of the Cotton Bowl, you would think that Henry didn’t even play. And while it’s true that the defense deserves top billing in the win over Michigan State and Jake Coker played admirably, Derrick Henry quietly put together a 75 yard, 2 touchdown night. How many running backs can have a quiet two touchdown day? Probably just number 2.

Don’t get me wrong – Coker played his best game of the year and kept the offense moving. But Derrick Henry laid this hit on an NFL prospect on his way to two touchdowns.

This proved once again that Derrick Henry is an unstoppable force and there is no immovable object. After all that he has accomplished this season, I’m convinced that there are only two things that can stop Derrick Henry – the goal line and Lane Kiffin.
