Ryan Anderson sacks Tennessee’s Josh Dobbs to set up winning TD
Ryan Anderson knocked the wind out of Josh Dobbs and you could practically hear Tide fans everywhere sighing with relief. Then the relief was drowned out by the disappointment of A’Shawn Robinson not quite making it to the endzone on a scoop and almost-score.
The fourth quarter had not gone well for the Alabama defense. That’s the nicest way I can think of to describe Tennessee’s four play, 75-yard touchdown drive. Fortunately, Bama’s offense rose to the challenge of trailing in the 4th quarter and put together a quick drive that ended with a 14-yard touchdown run by Derrick Henry.
Josh Dobbs and the Vols got the ball back with a chance to win with a touchdown drive for the ages. Instead, the defense reminded us that they’re one of the most dominant units in the country. Tennessee managed one first down, then found themselves facing 2nd and 24 after an illegal formation penalty and a Jonathan Allen sack.
Ryan Anderson and A’Shawn Robinson put the exclamation point on the comeback win on third down. Anderson sacked Josh Dobbs and forced a fumble, which Robinson picked up and almost managed to score.
It’s been a great year for Bama fans, but the one thing I feel like we were missing was a fat guy touchdown. Not that A’Shawn Robinson is fat. He is enormous but completely ripped. But all of our non-offensive touchdowns were very athletic defensive back types. A’Shawn in the endzone would’ve been an excellent addition to the highlight reels.
