Every Nick Saban Recruiting Class Has Won A National Championship
Every Nick Saban recruiting class at Alabama has won a National Championship.
ICYMI: ALABAMA FOOTBALL, CHAMPIONS AGAIN!
Every Nick Saban recruiting class so far at Alabama has won a National Championship. That’s sounds totally insane for a coach who has been at Alabama for eight years, but it’s true. Saban’s first recruiting class was in 2007, he had some input into that class because he came to Alabama in January.
The 2007 recruiting class was part of the 2009 National Championship when Alabama beat Texas in the Rose Bowl. The 2015 class was obviously part of tonight’s National Championship when Alabama defeated Clemson. In between those two the National Championships in 2011 and 2012 fill in the classes between.
Bear Bryant won six national championships at Alabama, but he didn’t win them in as short a timespan as Nick Saban. Bryant was the Alabama coach for 25 years, in those 25 years he certainly had classes that didn’t win a title.
This is just an amazing accomplishment. How’s this for a recruiting pitch: COME TO ALABAMA, OUR RECRUITS OVER THE LAST EIGHT YEARS HAVE A 100% SUCESS RATE AT WINNING A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
This has been an incredible season and an incredible eight years under Nick Saban, let’s hope there are many many more to come!
