We wrote some thank you notes to teams and individuals who weren’t getting enough credit for helping Alabama achieve its 16th National Championship.

Dear Black Rebel Land Bear Sharks,

Ole Miss was the only team to beat Alabama this year… what an incredible accomplishment for your program! Once again Ole Miss is the king maker, beating a great team early and galvanizing that team into a champion.  You did it for Tebow and now you’ve done it for Jake Coker, it’s your destiny!

Without the Ole Miss loss I don’t know if this team would have gotten their act together.  Alabama played their worst game of the season against Ole Miss, and between that and divine intervention caused by Hugh Freeze being Jesus’ favorite, Ole Miss got a big big win.  Multiplying of fishes and crazy improbably passes going straight up in the air and landing in an Ole Miss player’s hands happened.  It’s clear that the football gods wanted Ole Miss to win that game and for Alabama to learn a valuable lesson. Whatever insane bear/shark/civil war reenactor god you people sacrifice virgins to, we thank them.

Ole Miss was the Empire Strikes Back of Alabama’s season, Alabama needed that low to truly become a Jedi.

The good thing about losing to Ole Miss is that you know that there’s no chance they don’t blow it somehow.  Ole Miss is the only SEC West team (outside of newcomer Texas A&M) that has never been to the SEC Championship Game.  Don’t get me wrong, you had us worried for a week or so, but then we saw you struggling with Vanderbilt the very next week and we knew it would all work out in the end.

Without Ole Miss completely blowing it against Florida’s roid raging quarterback and Uncle Bert Bielema we might not even be here having this talk; now that’s a frightening thought!  Don’t get me wrong Ole Miss wouldn’t have been in the playoff anyway, they still would have found a way to lose to Memphis probably, but that’s not the point.

Ole Miss has never sat higher on the mountain top, they are Sugar Bowl champions and have had back to back ten win seasons.  (I don’t know if this is the first time ever Ole Miss has had back to back ten win seasons, but it has to be right?)

Of course after all the glory of this year this is what Ole Miss fans are bragging about…

You did it Ole Miss! You beat Alabama two years in a row! You deserve all the glory, you should revel in the greatest accomplishment in the history of Ole Miss athletics! YOU SHALL DRINK FROM THE KEG OF GLORY AND PARTY LIKE YOU WANT TO JUMP OUT OF A WINDOW!

Thank you for being part of the process Ole Miss, and Roll Tide!
