Alabama Football could still end up with the #1 recruiting class this year, here’s how.

ICYMI: The best Nick Saban rants of the past year.

There’s been a lot of talk from the media about Alabama Football not having the top recruiting class this year.  The reason for Alabama’s class being smaller is of course that Alabama has so many guys coming back next year… but the media isn’t going to let that get in the way of a good “the Alabama Dynasty is dead” story if Bama doesn’t end Wednesday on top of the recruiting rankings.  Nick Saban might ruin the media’s fun though, Alabama Football could still end up with the top class at the end of signing day.

Alabama still has a lot of pieces in play so let’s take a look at them, including many five stars.  If Alabama was to pull some of these five star darkhorses then look out…

These are the guys that aren’t Alabama locks, but are still considering the Tide:

Terrell Hall

Terrell Hall is a five star defensive end from Washington D.C. who’s got Ole Miss, Maryland, Florida State, and Alabama at the top of his list.  Many folks think Terrell is going to go with the Rebels, but a flip to Alabama from him could play a big part in an Alabama resurgence.

Mique Juarez

Mique Juarez is also a five star defender that is looking at Ole Miss… seriously what is Hugh Freeze putting in the water that makes people like Oxford? If Mique were to pick Alabama, especially after Hall does, then the ball towards an Alabama #1 Ranking would really be rolling.

Ben Davis

Another possible grab for Alabama would be Ben Davis out of Gordo. Davis is yet another 5 star who hasn’t named his final team.  Davis is probably an Alabama vs Auburn battle, so let’s hope he doesn’t have a thing for Birmingham Bowls.

Jack Jones

Jack Jones is a five star cornerback out of California that has Alabama, USC, and Texas A&M at the top of his list.  Can Nick Saban grab a five star out of USC’s back yard?

Mecole Hardman Jr.

Mercole is a five star leaning towards UGA and Kirby Smart… I’m happy for Kirby, but you knew that was going to bite us this year. It’ll be up to Nick Saban and Jeremy Pruitt to see if they can pull Mercole back to Tuscaloosa.

Lyndell Wilson

Lyndell Wilson is also a top defensive recruit considering Alabama and UGA since Kirby Smart’s move to Georgia. I have a feeling Lyndell is going to be suiting up for Georgia though, so I’d put him at the bottom of my likely list.

Put all this with commitments from Charles Baldwin, Kendall Jones, and just today Nigel Knott and Alabama could easily move back to the number one spot.

A lot of folks wrote off Alabama from the College Football Playoff after the Ole Miss loss… those same folks are writing off Alabama now… they just never learn.
