The media loves to talk about how evil Nick Saban is, but when you look closely he’s the kind of coach they should be praising as a role model.

ICYMI: Marco Rubio is still mad that Nick Saban left the Dolphins.

Charlie Strong was loved by the media for his tough stance on character; he never shuts up about character.  Besides the fact that character and “doing it the right way” are all you have to talk about when your program is a dumpster fire, it appears it may all have been a crock.

Charlie Strong is getting subpoenaed in a divorce case… and it doesn’t look good.  Charlie Strong might be subpoenaed by a Louisville Trustee Jonathan Blue who says that Charlie and his wife were very familiar.  He asks for Strong’s phone records, travel documentation, and gifts that his wife allegedly gave to Strong.

Charlie Strong issued a statement, which didn’t deny anything:

"“I was recently given information regarding a marital dispute between a couple I know in Louisville. I’m not a party to their divorce and have received no court order in this case. I certainly respect the legal system, and if I do receive a court order, I will review it and respond then. Since this is a legal case, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to say anything further at this time. I do want Longhorn fans and supporters to know that this will not affect my focus in any way. My number one priority is getting this team ready to compete at the highest level. We are doing that now and will continue to do so.”"

To sum up Charlie’s statement: “I’m not saying I did, but I’m not saying I didn’t, I hope this blows over, go Longhorns.”

If you didn’t do anything improper why not just deny that you had an affair? Why say anything if you can’t deny it? Perhaps because you are worried that it’s about to hit the fan?

Whether Charlie Strong did or didn’t sleep with a trustee’s wife is unknown, what we do know is that once again the guy who won’t stop talking about character might not have the best character.

The media is still in love with Charlie Strong though, they are asking why it should be any of our business what happened between him and Mrs. Blue.  Well media, maybe it matters because you had no trouble running Bobby Petrino through it? Maybe it matters because he claimed to be above the herd, and we are now finding out it was all a sham?

Meanwhile Nick Saban continues to take heat for everything he does… why? Because nine years ago he said he wasn’t going to switch jobs and then changed his mind.  HOW CAN WE TOLERATE SUCH EVIL IN THE WORLD?

Nick Saban’s character assassination started with his leaving Miami for Alabama and has never stopped. Everything Nick Saban does is under the microscope because he’s a winner, he once changed his mind about a job, and he doesn’t love the media.

Nick Saban however is exactly the guy the media should be looking at as an example of good character.  Put aside the fact that you don’t like that he yells as a football coach and you’ll see that Nick’s Kids helps underprivileged children all over the southeast, Nick Saban has sponsored 16 Habitat for Humanity houses, and the Sabans are helping St. Francis build a new Student Center. What a shady character right?

In the end it won’t matter what happens with Charlie Strong or Nick Saban, the media has made up their mind on what the storyline should be.  Just know that sometimes it’s the guy not making a big deal out of all the good things he does that has the true character.
