The Ole Miss Rebels

Did you really think we could get too far into this list without mentioning the Ole Miss Rebels? They have been the epitome of failure for many years which in turn, makes them a good contender for the Off-Season Championship.

You could feel the momentum building for the Rebels when they won their Super Bowl against Alabama two seasons ago. They still couldn’t find their way to Atlanta in early December if you dropped them off at the Interstate 20-285 junction, but the talk began.

Then, here comes last season. They had a hot-shot quarterback and were getting mentions as being the hot team in the SEC as well as the team that had ended Alabama’s dynasty and gave the Tide a blow that it would take a while to recover from. Give me a second while I stop laughing and finish polishing these trophies.

You see, Rebels, this is a marathon and not a sprint. You can’t just count on pulling out the stops for your Super Bowl each season only to lose to a college named after a city in Tennessee as well as suffer a loss because of a fourth and 25 against Arkansas. By the way, we still owe you for that one Arkansas fans.

Fear not, Rebels. You can still win the Off-Season Championship and I am sure you will give it an all-star try. I’m already seeing evidence of it.

Just don’t forget to win some more games if you do get by the Tide this season during the real competition.
