ICYMI: Alabama Football | A-Day Lineup and Things To Do

What is Alabama’s greatest roadblock to repeating as national champions? (FoxSports)

"Nearly as amazing as Alabama’s four national championships in the past seven years is how close the Tide came in two of the other three. In 2013 they were 11-0 and No. 1 in the country when they lost to Auburn on the improbable Kick Six. The next year they won the SEC and reached the playoff but lost to Ohio State. They’ve been in contention through at least Thanksgiving in all but one of the past seven seasons. That’s insane."

This is actually a well thought out answer. I don’t care when media members pick Alabama to lose. What bothers me is when they just use dumb reasons or from their hate. Stewart Mandel gives a great answer. It’s mainly centered around that fact that Alabama is usually in the discussion near the end of the season so the odds are in their favors. Like he says though, it really is a small room for error.

An hour with Nick Saban: How Steph Curry, golf and more shape Alabama’s success (FoxSports)

I hardly give FoxSports the time of day after some of their hit pieces in the past few seasons. I do have a tremendous respect for Bruce Feldman. Feldman hosts this podcast that features Alabama head coach Nick Saban. I know what I will be listening to as soon as John Henry stops hitting the inside of skull with a sledge hammer. Y’all be sure to check this out.

Alabama OLB: ‘You stop the run, you have some fun’ (BamaOnline)

"Two of those edge rushers, outside linebackers Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams, want to be known more for their all-around game than their ability to apply pressure to opposing quarterbacks.“A lot of people say we’re pass rushers,” Anderson said. “We’re not. We stop the run. That’s what Coach Tosh (Lupoi) says. ‘You stop the run, you have some fun.’ So we take pride in stopping the run. We’re not just pass rushers.”"

“You stop the run, you have some fun?” Is it football season, yet.

Cooper Bateman emerges as leader in Alabama quarterback race (Al.com)

In this one, the guys take a look at Cooper Bateman. Saban told reporters that even the season started today, Bateman would get the nod. Like I said before, I wouldn’t read too much in to it. It’s just April.
