Alabama Men’s Basketball Honors 2015-2016 Team With Annual Postseason Banquet

"The University of Alabama men’s basketball team was honored at its annual awards banquet on Thursday evening at Coleman Coliseum. More than 500 fans packed the venue’s floor as the Crimson Tide student-athletes, staff and managers were recognized for their efforts on and off the court during the 2015-16 season."

Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball held their annual awards banquet last night at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. Avery Johnson was recognized for tying the record held by Wimp Sanderson for most wins by a first year HC (18-15; roughly a 55% win rate).

According to the article, players were lauded for efforts on and off the court. Seniors Retin Obasohan and Arthur Edwards topped the awards list, earning Outstanding Offensive Player and Most Improved player, respectively.

Softball Preps for No. 11 Kentucky

"Senior infielder Leona Lafaele isn’t have much trouble seeing the ball. In her first at-bat Wednesday night, she crushed a two-run home run just fair in No. 4 Alabama softball’s 4-2 win over South Alabama."

Crimson Tide softball had no trouble besting South Alabama this week. Lead by senior Leona Lafeale, Bama won 4-2 Wednesday night and is currently ranked 4th in the nation. The ladies improved to a 39-8 record, and are preparing to play a three-game series against 11th ranked Kentucky this weekend in Tuscaloosa. First pitch is tonight at 6:30pm central. This marks the 20th anniversary of the Tide’s softball program, and is also Alumni Weekend, welcoming former Alabama players back to Title Town.

Baseball Travels to College Station to Face Third Ranked Texas A&M

"The Crimson Tide travels to College Station for a three-game set against third-ranked Texas A&M. The trip to Texas will be Alabama’s second in a line of three straight weekend series against top-10 foes. The Crimson Tide and Aggies are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT start in the series opener on Friday. Saturday’s game is set to start at 2 p.m. CT, while Sunday’s finale is slated for a 1 p.m. CT first pitch. All three games will air live on SECN+ with Will Johnson doing the play-by-play and Mark Johnson providing color for all the action."

Bama baseball will face the Texas A&M Aggies in a 3 game series this weekend in College Station. The Tide is looking for a huge W over the 3rd ranked Aggies, following a midweek 8-2 loss to South Alabama. Catch the action all weekend on SECN+, starting at 6:30pm  tonight. These SEC West rivals will continue the action at 2pm tomorrow and again Sunday at 1pm; all times CDT.
