10. Down A Craft Beer At Druid City Brewing Company
If you don’t go to take part in having one of the finest craft beers Tuscaloosa has to offer, you must visit for the chalk murals alone.
Yes, you read that right. Tuscaloosa’s oldest craft brewery is also home to some of the best Alabama-themed chalk murals that you have ever seen. The awesome thing is they change them up often, so you never know what you will see. That right there is more than enough excuse to belly up to a beer and appreciate some of the finest in Gump art.
Don’t believe me? Just check out their latest.
According to their website, co-owners Bo Hicks and Elliott Roberts first got involved in craft beer brewing around five years ago. “Eventually we just called each other’s bluff, and we made a business plan, found some investors, and we got the brewery going,” said Hicks.
Their first legal brew from the brewery was sold at Egan’s in November of 2012. Just a few months later in July, the beer-brewing duo finally opened their tap room.
I know for a fact that Hicks is always talking about the brewery’s collection of vinyl record albums and is always inviting folks to drop by and listen to some of the great tunes. Complete with that, live entertainment at times, beer, and a couple of cornhole setups, what more could anyone want? Go check them out. They are open seven days a week.
