18. Follow The Tide Into Enemy Territory

There are a lot of intimidating atmospheres in the SEC – UT’s Neyland Stadium, Florida’s “The Swamp”, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium just to name a few. When the Crimson Tide can see a large section of fans covered in crimson and white on an opponent’s home turf, it gives our team an adrenaline boost like no other.

Some of the best times a fan can have are cheering on our teams at road games. There’s a huge rush and sense of comradery throughout the visiting section. Everyone seems to have an unspoken bond: We’re the outcasts here, so we have to stick together. Not only is it exhilarating cheering for the Tide as they beat the silver britches off the Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium or watching our guys march down the field to force overtime in the waning minutes of a night game at Tiger Stadium, it’s also an awesome feeling to sing Rammer Jammer in our opponents’ stadiums as their fans trickle out with their heads down.

Despite the bad rap a lot of our fellow SEC fans get, everyone is generally hospitable when you visit their towns  – as long as you aren’t acting like a jerk yourself. Keep it classy on the road and the class will be returned when the Tide comes rolling home.
