21. Visit Bear Bryant’s Grave

If you are already in Tuscaloosa visiting or the next time you are close to Birmingham, any Alabama fan should stop by Elmwood Cemetery and see Coach Bryant’s grave.
It’s nothing fancy. nor does it have an extravagant headstone. It’s just a simple and flat marker and truthfully, that’s probably perfect for the Moro Bottom, AR native that made his way to Tuscaloosa for his college ball and later where he would become a legend in coaching.

It’s only a short trek from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham at just under 60 miles, but it was a drive that was packed with folks on the roadsides to pay their respects as Bryant’s body traveled the route just after he passed away. Once you find your way to his marker, you are likely to find Golden Flake potato chips, Coca-Cola bottles or an Alabama shaker from someone that recently visited. He may be gone, but he is one coach that the older Alabama fans want to remember and the younger ones want to learn more about from those that experience the Tide under his reign.

Being a fan of the Crimson Tide will teach you that Alabama has storied past and a great future, and this man was one of the architects that really set everything in motion.
