5. Take in a Baseball Game at the New Sewell Thomas Stadium

If you haven’t had the chance to head to Tuscaloosa and the campus lately, you might be taken aback by the renovations at the home of Alabama Crimson Tide baseball, Sewell Thomas Stadium (nicknamed “The Joe”).

That’s why we added this one to the list. Plus, you get to support another Alabama athletic team which is the Tide type of thing to do.

The Tide has only spent just this season in their new home and the renovations quickly moved it up in terms of rankings for baseball facilities in the Southeastern Conference.

With the $40 million-plus renovations, the ball park is more or less a new one. The university added many amenities as well as better sight lines from the stands, a playground for the kids, and one of the best hitting facilities around for the players. They even have stadium lights that fade in and out that allow for light shows between innings and after the game.

Add this one to your list if you have never been and especially if you haven’t attended a game since the renovations. I guarantee you will be surprised and in awe of the Crimson Tide’s baseball home.
