Auburn football coach Gus Malzahn received a one-year contract extension on Monday and the majority of Auburn fans were not pleased.

ICYMI: No. 2 JUCO OT Elliot Baker Commits To Alabama

Things couldn’t be better for the Alabama Crimson Tide football program right now. Fall practice will start soon and the Tide will defend their 2015 SEC title and a national championship.

Then, there is Auburn.

Fresh off of their last-place finish in the SEC West which amounted to a 2-6 conference record and just breaking .500 with a thrilling victory in the Birmingham Bowl, the Tigers offered head coach Gus Malzahn a one-year extension on his contract to stretch it out to the year 2020. If Auburn chooses to move on from the Gus Bus, the school would owe him $2,237,500 for the extra year that was tacked on the contract.

Let’s check in with the Auburn family and see how they are doing.

Well, we are certainly off to a bad start.

I had the exact, same reaction. Mine was followed by laughter.

I don’t really know the answer here, but the logical explanation is someone at Auburn.

With the extension plus the results of the game, this may not have turned out to be an ideal night for Tiger fans.

I think I know how to answer this. I took notes. Because this is Auburn!

This seems like a good explanation to me.

Then by all means, please keep him there while he was still in training.

Roll Tide! We are happy, too.
