7. Get Off My Lawn

Before the expansion of Bryant-Denny in 2006, two fraternity houses sat alongside the north side of the stadium – Delta Kappa Epsilon and Phi Kappa Psi. During the creation of the new entrance, including the Walk of Champions on the front lawn, the DKE house was leveled but the Phi Kappa Psi remained in place.

However, Nick Saban got tired of seeing the  fraternity house sitting smack-dab in front of Alabama football’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, so he essentially told the brothers, “Get off my lawn!”

Only kidding! Well, sort of.

It hasn’t been stated for SURE why the fraternity house was completely destroyed mid-June 2016. Yes, Phi Kappa Psi is getting a big, new house closer to the official Fraternity Row on University Boulevard. And while it seems great to just tell people that the new house is the soul reason for the move, there is a theory making the rounds that Alabama football head coach Nick Saban requested it be moved from the front of BDS.

It’s only a theory, but it is definitely interesting (and funny) to think about Saban on the phone at his desk saying, “I don’t care how long it’s been there. That thing is in MY yard and I don’t like it!”

Have you ever known Nick Saban to not get what he wants?  Yeah…we haven’t either.
