Crimson Tide Report: So Much Ridiculousness
So much ridiculousness in the world of Crimson Tide sports today, including Saban on Finebaum, the NCAA wanting to get rid of kickoffs (again), and Jim Harbaugh starring in…a rap video.
ICYMI: Auburn University To Hold Cattle Conference
Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban went on the Paul Finebaum Show yesterday to smooth things over after their spat at Media Days. Saban talked discipline, what the term “suspended indefinitely” means, and how he hates to lose more than he loves to win.
The NCAA is once again talking about doing away with kickoffs. Is anyone surprised? After Alabama was able to make some seriously major plays on kickoffs (National Championship Game onside kick, anyone?), it’s not shocking to conspiracy theorists that the NCAA would do away with kickoffs just to prevent the Crimson Tide from winning again. They can try – but it won’t work.
This has nothing directly to do with the Alabama, but Michigan’s totally insane head coach Jim Harbaugh has made some cutting remarks about the Crimson Tide and Coach Saban in the past. The new ridiculousness that he is a part of MUST. BE. SHARED. Harbaugh has actually starred in a Michigan-themed rap video.
Yep. Really.
And here it is.
Harbaugh listed his top 5 favorite Drake songs on Twitter a few weeks ago, leading to some eyerolls and people asking if someone could find out what Saban’s top 5 Drake songs are. After this, we have to wonder if people will start trying to get Saban to star in an Alabama-themed rap video.
Somehow, we don’t see that happening.
*Sidenote: I was watching this when my almost 10 year old daughter walked in.
Daughter: “Who is that?”
Me: “Michgan’s head football coach.”
Daughter: “Why is he doing this?”
Me: “I honestly have no idea.”
Daughter: “That’s just stupid. Nick Saban would never do something stupid like that.”
I am SO proud of her.
