Quarterback Competition

This one goes without saying. This has been going on for the past several seasons and the Twitter coaches have already started to send tweets to their favorite quarterback to let him know he should be starting. Here is my hot take: you could be bringing the kid’s drive down thinking he would be the definite choice. Let the coaches do that. We do know that Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett, and Jalen Hurts seem to have a leg-up on the competition. Don’t expect a decision this week.

Most seem to think Bateman will get the nod for the opening game, but I expect the other talented signal callers to turn up the heat in practice. I could also see using someone like Hurts on certain offensive packages. I will defer to Coach Saban on that one.
