The Iron Bowl delivered yet again when it came to the world of social media. From players to fans to media members, all used their platform to chime in on the greatest rivalry in college football.

The Wheelhouse Pub, a Tuscaloosa establishment, had an interesting stat to tweet out.

The Bama Hammer Podcast host Micah Sutton sent out some sound advice, while another Crimson Tide fan sent a well deserved shoutout to former Tide DB Maurice Smith. Tuscaloosa News contributor Aaron Suttles reminded everyone in the state that the Iron Bowl is, well, just a game. We’re sure that everyone took his reminder into account.

A few former Alabama football stars weighed in before kick.

Perhaps the funniest part of the pregame was the false confidence from the Auburn side. 5-star offensive tackle commit Calvin Ashley had no worries along with several in the Auburn fanbase.

THE GAME

The first half was shaky at moments, and the Crimson Tide pulled away in the second half. During the game, several fans and former players sent out live tweets during the game.

Lane Kiffin hit us all with a very predictable first play of the game.

We never would have guessed that Daniel Carlson would make a field goal.

After a freshman quarterback hits a freshman wide receiver for for positive yards with a freshman running back in the backfield and a freshman blocking at right tackle, I believe the “freshman don’t play at Alabama” narrative in recruiting might be dead. I think I sense some sarcasm in this tweet.
