Kiffin Throws a Stiffarm on a Derrick Henry Run
We all remember that Derrick Henry took home the Heisman trophy at the end of the 2015 season on the way to Alabama’s 16th National Championship. But it’s easier to forget that Lane Kiffin also got caught throwing a stiffarm.
After Alabama shut down Leonard Fournette, then the runaway Heisman favorite, the previous week. Derrick Henry had started getting some buzz as a potential Heisman winner. He validated that talk in a big way his next time out.
Henry ran for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 31-6 win over Mississippi State. It was his 15th consecutive game with a rushing touchdown, breaking a record previously held by Tim Tebow.
Derrick Henry was running wild and Lane Kiffin didn’t want to be left out of the fun. As Henry was breaking away from some safeties who had gone deep and were trying to save the touchdown, Kiffin chased him down the sideline and threw a couple stiffarms of his own.
